Many institutions have developed a Data Science 1 class, often including data wrangling and data visualization. For those schools, what might a follow-up course look like? If we think of machine/statistical learning as a separate offering, what are core ideas of data science that can and should be taught in a second course? Ideas could include functions, iteration, data structures, databases and queries, version control, interactive graphics, text analysis, and many more.
