Come join us to reflect on JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) practices in Statistics and Data Science Education. As educators who care deeply about JEDI issues, we’d like to gather other like-minded folks to generate ideas about how we can use our education backgrounds to be better JEDI teachers. Some questions that come to mind:
* What does JEDI look like in Stat Ed?
* What is Stat Ed research with a JEDI focus? What is JEDI research with a Stat Ed focus?
* Who does JEDI research?
* Who does JEDI research benefit?
* What are the tenure and promotion implications for JEDI research?
* Where is statistics (as compared to, for example, chemistry and computer science) in the quest to make Statistics and Data Science Education research more focused on JEDI?
Meanwhile, whether or not you are able to join us at the Birds of a Feather session, feel free to join the ASA JEDI outreach group: http://www.datascijedi.org. There are lots of different ways to get involved, and we hope to work together to make an impact.
