Abstract

The availability of affordable laptops, tablets, and smart phones combined with ubiquitous internet connections and the power of web applets allows us to dramatically alter the traditional sequence of topics in introductory statistics. Simulation based curricula are now available which use web apps for visualization of the processes of permutation testing and bootstrap confidence interval construction. This presentation describes and demonstrates a suite of apps built using the shiny package in R that allows students to start statistical inference in the first week of a course.
