Keynote: Sustaining a Research Trajectory in Statistics Education: Attending to Learning, Teaching, and Tools | Presidents Hall

Hollylynne Lee (North Carolina State University)

Abstract

For this inaugural research satellite conference, we will gather together to celebrate the discipline of statistics education research. We will consider approaches and methodologies for innovating research that attends to learning, teaching, and tools. In this talk, Hollylynne will share strategies for building and sustaining a research trajectory in statistics and data science education, utilizing examples from her own research over the past 25 years. She directs the Hub for Innovation and Research in Statistics Education at NC State (https://www.fi.ncsu.edu/teams/hirise) that includes a dynamic team of research scholars and graduate students. Together they collaborate with researchers and designers across many organizations and institutions to work toward improving statistics and data science educational opportunities for all learners.
