Abstract

The Guidelines for Assessment and Instruction in Statistics Education (GAISE) college report was issued in 2005. It was revised in 2016, and the report continues to be widely used and widely cited across introductory statistics curriculum development efforts and education research. It is time to revisit the document again and create the next version of College GAISE. This Breakout will review the current College GAISE Report and invite participants to provide feedback on crafting this new revision. What might be added? Deleted? Changed? What resources should be expanded or added? As a part of the theme Communicating With/About Data, we will welcome input on how best to communicate the College GAISE recommendations and resources to a broader audience. In addition, communicating with data plays a large (and expanding) role in statistics education, so it will be very relevant as we revisit the College GAISE Report. The goals of the session are to expand awareness of the current College GAISE report, and to gather insight from participants on the next iteration of the report. There are no technology requirements and no pre-requisites for the session.
