Abstract
How can you determine whether a pedagogical or curricular approach you have designed and implemented is useful for students? What information do you need to share about your approach to make it useful for other instructors? How can you share details about qualitive research analysis that demonstrate the level of rigor required for such research? Educational scholarship, as any scholarship, requires systematic investigation. In this session, we share essential aspects of that system. Specifically, we will discuss design conjectures, principles of assessment, and principles of qualitative analysis. We will share resources and practice identifying the aforementioned qualities in previous studies to support future communication in formats such as presentations at future USCOTS or manuscripts to journals such as JSDSE.
