4H: Varied and effective ways to present p-values

Deb Rumsey (The Ohio State University)

Abstract

P-values are difficult to teach and understand. Some of it could be that the traditional methods aren’t working anymore and it’s time to mix things up a bit. In this section we go over the basic ideas of p- values, look at the sticking points for students, share interesting ways to teach them, and see real world examples of pvalues being used at the intro level. Bring your ideas and questions- there will be plenty to discuss!
