"Teaching Randomization-based Methods in an Introductory Statistics Course: The CATALST Curriculum"

Abstract
This two-hour workshop will provide hands-on experience with three to four lessons developed as part of the CATALST (Change Agents for Teaching and Learning Statistics) project. Focused on the introductory, non-calculus based statistics course, the CATALST course makes exclusive use of simulation to carry out inferential analyses. Participants will work through lessons using a preview version of the TinkerPlots software to see how the software is used to build students' understanding of inference through randomization and bootstrap methods. Participants will be given access to all lesson plans, in-class student activities, and data developed for the CATALST course.
