Information
Several web-based apps published at ArtofStat.com visualize concepts and analyze data descriptively and inferentially. However, these apps depend on an internet connection. I have started to convert these as a standalone app for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. (At the time of the conference, the app should be available as beta in Google's and Apple's appstore: Search for Art of Stat.) The app does not rely on any internet connection. But are we as instructors ready to let our students use smartphones in class and perhaps on exams? What are the pros and cons?
