Abstract
Educators in statistics, mathematics, and computer science have spent many years developing and refining curricula in their fields, particularly in the introductory courses. Many college and university level faculty are now working to develop new courses and curricula in data science or to update existing mathematics, statistics, and/or computer science courses to be more data-driven. The goals of our eCOTS regional conference will be for these faculty to discuss options for building data-driven experiences into their existing courses and for developing new courses and curricula in data science while applying the lessons of previous curricular development in the fields of statistics, mathematics, and computer science.
