Abstract
This project-based curriculum was designed to help students experience the power and excitement of data-driven inquiry and foster students' active engagement with statistics. In the classroom, students explore and manage big data and choose a research topic based on their own interest and learn fundamental statistics through a whole-semester project. In this way, students are motivated to apply statistics in their adventure and answer their own question. They are able to see the connection between statistics and the real world and become more engaged in discussions. The goal of this curriculum is to increase the retention and diversity of students.
