Information
Statistical consulting centers are present at many universities across the world. They often support student research, faculty research, and even serve external partners. Typically, these centers are staffed using graduate students. The Burkardt Consulting Center at Northern Kentucky University operates under a model where the analyst role is instead filled by undergraduate statistics majors, primarily in their senior year. This poster will provide insight into the unique challenges of that environment. Also presented will be some of the methods and pedagogy used to make the approach successful, as well as an assessment of impacts on our student consultants during their education as well as post-graduation success.
