  • July 11, 2006 webinar presented by Jackie Miller, Ohio State University, and David Spohn Hudson High School (first of a two-part webinar). This 30-minute webinar focused on the AP Statistics experience. David Spohn, an experienced AP Statistics teacher discussed the curriculum of AP, insights on his own teaching, and resources that are available to AP Statistics teachers. Dr. Jackie Miller, a table leader for the AP reading, talked about the AP Statistics reading experience from the point of view of a college faculty member, while David Spohn adds in his experiences as a high school reader. (also provided is information on how to get involved in the AP Statistics reading.) The webinar closes with suggestions from participants on what they believe should await AP Statistics students once they reach college.

  • BrightStat is a free online application for statistical analyses. Besides many non-parametric tests, BrightStat offers multiple linear regression, logistic regression, ANOVA and repeated measurements ANOVA as well as Kaplan Meier Survival analysis. BrightStat has an easy to use GUI and supports the creation of mostly used scientifc graphs such as line-, bar-, scatter- and box-plots as well as histograms.

  • The International Statistical Literacy Project (ISLP) puts out a newsletter bimonthly. According to ISLP, "The mission of the International Statistical Literacy Project (ISLP) is to support, create and participate in statistical literacy activities and promotion around the world." This newsletter is a way to get information out to those interested.

  • Compared to probability calculators, the traditional format of distribution tables has the advantage of showing many values simultaneously and, thus, enables the user to examine and quickly explore ranges of probabilities. This webpage includes a list of distributions and tables, including the standard normal (Z) table, student's t table, chi-square table, and F distribution tables. An animation of the density function and distribution function is shown above each distribution table to demonstrate the effects changing degrees of freedom and significance levels have on the shape of a distribution.

  • This dataset comes from a study of diabetic patients randomly assigned to a two-period crossover design. Patients were given 1 of 2 drug sequences (EN, NE) in each period and blood pressure was recorded. Questions from this study refer to the ability of the drugs to lower blood pressure. A text file version of the data is found in the relation link.

Patients were given either Drug A or Drug B, and data on plasma levels were collected. Questions from this study refer the similarity of the drugs.
