eCOTS 2012 - Virtual Poster #22

"How to Teach Modern Statistics when You Don't Have Modern Technology"
with Jonathan Oaks, Macomb Community College

In an age where students have grown up with the use of technology, some colleges still don't have the modern technology in the classroom that students have come to expect. In this short poster presentation, I will discuss some of the ways that I have been able to liven up my statistics classes without anything more than a chalkboard and a graphing calculator. This will include how I have used a single example about the weights of steaks to reinforce several topics in the course and some of the games and problems that I use to keep students interested and focused during class.
