May Results:
The May caption contest cartoon is shown above. The judges found the winning caption to be “Regression Models can be very sensitive to noise and outlying behaviors!” submitted by retired AP statistics teacher Jodene Kessler. Jodene’s caption illustrates the idea that the value of a regression predictions may be sensitive to noise and outliers. Two honorable mentions this month go to Kimberly Stanke from University of Nebraska at Lincoln for the caption "After James carefully built his proof on various assumptions, Billy comes in with a bat to knock it down!” and to Larry Lesser from The University of Texas at El Paso, for the caption “Model assumptions are not equally subject to being dis-carded..”
