The many generations of data science.
We had 24 submissions for the March caption contest that featured a cartoon showing a group of people in a park including a very old man writing numbers on parchment with a quill, a middle aged women working on statistical theory on a pad of paper, a young adult with graphical displays on his laptop and a teenager wearing virtual reality equipment imagining a complex network.
The winning caption for the March contest was "The many generations of data science," written by Laila Poisson from The Henry Ford Health System. Laila’s caption is both a neat pun on the generation of data and a way to discuss the changing landscape of technologies for dealing with data.
