Caption Contest - August 2022 - Results

The judges found the winning caption to be “Creating the best graphs to describe your data means many revisions get left behind," written by Elise Lahiere, a student at Montclair State University. Elise’s caption can be a vehicle to discuss how finding an appropriate data visualization may require multiple revisions to ensure it is aligned with what is important in the data. An honorable mention this month goes to Jim Alloway from EMSQ Associates for his caption, “Reproducible research means never saying goodbye to your analyses.” Jim’s caption aligns with introducing the idea of reproducible research in any investigating and associated tools to do so. A second honorable mention goes to Toni Sorrell from Longwood University for her caption “Reuse, Recycle, Re-analyze!” that opens the door to conversations about repurposing tools and data for different analysis goals.
