April Results:
The cartoon for our 107th cartoon caption contest in April is shown above. Amongst the 24 submissions for the contest, the judges found the winning caption for the cartoon to be “Don't worry! There is a 50% probability that we won't be devoured by wolves and also a 50% chance that those bears won't eat us. Let's flip a coin to decide.......” submitted by Cigdem Sirin from The University of Texas at El Paso. Cigdem’s caption can be used to discuss concepts about the probability of the intersection of two events.  An honorable mention this contest  goes to a comically poetic entry by Riddhi Bharani from the Vivekanand Education society's College of Arts, Science and Commerce: “Five hungry wolves and three hungry bears stare, His friend is a picture of despair, Yet the statistician is without care, He tosses a coin which is fair, For he knows all he has to do is watch the coin toss, to predict who will eat his friend Ross.” A second honorable mention goes to a caption for use in discussing simulation-based methods: “Don't panic! If I flip this coin 10,000 times, we survive at least once.” By Mickey Dunlap from University of Georgia.

Thanks to everyone who submitted a caption and congratulations to our winners!
