I will present a collection of low-stakes AI engagement activities I assign to students in my Introductory Statistics class. Students are given tasks that require communication with and evaluation of an AI chat bot. For example, they might ask AI to describe a distribution based on a graphical display and then critique the AI description based on what they have learned in class. I will discuss takeaways from two semesters of having students complete these activities. I teach at a liberal arts college with about 1400 students. Our Introduction to Statistics classes typically have around 24 students in them and about 70% of students on campus take the course. Custom questions on our institutional course evaluations will be used to specifically ask about these activities and then report on the results.
