Data Moves for Data Science: Can we detect climate change?

Tim Erickson (Lick-Wilmerding High School)

Abstract

You believe the climate is changing, right? But can you see it yourself, directly, in weather data? In this breakout, you will use the Common Online Data Analysis Platform (CODAP) to access that weather data directly from NOAA. Along the way, you will learn the basics of CODAP and discuss what we've been calling "data moves": actions we take to alter or restructure data in order to do our analysis. CODAP is free and open-source, is totally browser-based, and requires no sign-in; it was created by the good people at Concord Consortium.
