Abstract
Too often, instructors bemoan student-centered lessons or active-learning activities that don't scale to the size of their class. This breakout session explores several ways student response systems can be used to teach a variety of introductory statistical concepts, BECAUSE a class has more than 100 students present. Student response systems aren't just used for formative assessment , but to motivate core statistical concepts, including confidence intervals, statistical power, and the 'file-drawer' problem.
