Abstract
Introductory statistics courses often struggle with student persistence not because of content alone, but because of challenges with time management, organization, and academic confidence. This session highlights a classroom-tested approach developed with Lumen Learning that intentionally integrates social-emotional learning into an Intro to Statistics course through a structured AI-supported time management lesson. Participants will examine how students use generative AI as a planning and reflection tool, not as a shortcut for thinking, to manage workload, reduce anxiety, and stay engaged with statistical problem-solving.
