We invite you to a discussion on activities you have tried in the classroom that helped students realize that statistics is more than numbers. We will discuss incorporating instructional strategies like anchors, memory aids, and “macrocontexts” to encourage students to connect statistics to their personal lives and interests. We hope that students realize that they can utilize statistics as a way to make change and benefit those around them whether it be by disseminating or conducting research.
