P2-09: Designing Full Video Lectures for an Online Introductory Statistics Course

By Whitney Zimmerman (Pennsylvania State University)

Abstract

My online students were often requesting video lectures. They were primarily adult learners who would prefer one long video as opposed to numerous short videos for their convenience. In this presentation I will discuss the process that I went through when deciding to make full video lectures, including some of the literature from educational psychology and adult education that I considered. One video will be highlighted with YouTube analytics shared to show how students are viewing the longer videos.
