The 2007 USCOTS Lifetime Achievement Award in statistics education was presented to Joan Garfield, University of Minnesota prior at the USCOTS banquet dinner On May 18, 2007. Dick Scheaffer made a video appearance to thank Joan for her lifetime of work for the statistics education community. The inscription on the award read "... presented to Joan Garfield for timeless and continuing contributions to the improvement of statistics education." Joan was also presented with a tribute book of messages from her collaborators and students.
