Many of us interested in simulation-based inference credit George Cobb's
banquet address at the inaugural U.S. Conference on Teaching Statistics
(USCOTS) with sparking renewed interest in this approach to teaching
introductory statistics. George went on to write an article based on
that address in 2007:
