The primary responsibility is to teach 12 credit hours per semester of introductory level mathematics courses such as calculus for STEM majors, calculus for business, college algebra, or introductory statistics.  Other responsibilities include academic advising and contributing to building an inclusive learning environment for an increasingly diverse student population.

A master’s or doctoral degree (or its equivalent) in an appropriate discipline is required. Lecturers are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, good communication skills, and a commitment to a collegial and supportive academic environment.

Interested candidates should indicate in their application materials whether they can begin their appointment in January 2022 or August 2022 and send a cover letter, CV, evidence of teaching excellence, and two letters of reference (at least one of which should address teaching) to Ms. Rena Duerksen at rduerkse@butler.edu. Applications review will begin on September 1 and continue in an ongoing basis as they are received until October 1.
